GOALS FOR 2017

GOALS FOR 2017

RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA no not the dance but rather a way of goal setting I used in nursing school

R ... realistic ... can i accomplish this goal
U ... understandable ... what is it  i plan to do
M ... measurable  ... how will i know i have accomplished my goal
B ... behavioural ... what behaviour will i need to change or adopt to accomplish this goal
A ... achievable ... can i realistically achieve my goal ... no sense in setting my self up

Now i am retired i have time time time and more time ... i plan to spend time in my sewing room ... i have been wanting to design some quilt patterns ... so now i have plenty of opportunity ...  go for it girl

So my goal is to finish my horse quilt pattern of which i have most of it written ... i will work through my instructions and make another quilt and enter it in a show...

1) finish up my horse quilt pattern and self publish it by the end of October
this will require i learn some new skills with several new computer programs  ... i think i have
left myself enough time to learn these new skills and accomplish this task

2) make over my blog both visually and content wise
get this done by June 30 this also will require some new skills but i believe i can easily
            accomplish task

3) design and publish a new row by row pattern by July 2017
this will be much easier this year due to having experience of designing one last year ... once
again this will require some new skills but they will be the same as skills needed for my two
            goals

4) enter 2 quilts in local shows
first deadline is Feb 20, finish this by January 20 and send it off for quilting
second deadline is July so i have time to work

5) finish up at least 5 projects on my UFO list
that is 1 project every 2 months easy these will include 1. Emma's quilt
                                                                                                     2. dahlia quilt
                                                                                                     3. Olivia's raincoat
                                                                                                     4. Yoda hat for Lucas
                                                                                                     5. new quilted bag for myself

Realistically I feel this is a big list for me for the year as i do want time to sew for pleasure not just work .... so those are my goals for

Thank you so much for sharing your goals and linking up. I had never heard of the RUMBA acronym before for goal setting, so I learned something new, too! I hope you have a creatively fulfilling year as you work on your goals. Happy New Year!

Your post is great. I like how you organized the goals. RUMBA was marvelous. I might have to add you to my bloggers to follow list, I enjoy row by rows and pattern making and publishing. Best to you in the New Year.

Ok, I knew the planning concept as SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely) but I like the rhythm of RUMBA too! Your map is clear so you'll definitely get to where you want to go. Dance on and CHA CHA (Create Happy Achievements)!!
