babies babies babies

i work in a as you can guess there is an endless supply of babies...i do like to have quilts made for those little bundles of joy but it is sometimes hard to keep my supply up with the i have started to cut my leftovers into 5 inch squares and 2 1/2 inch strips...i made to nice rag quilt with my cotton 5 inch squares...i put 4 inch batting squares in between the cotton squares for extra warmth

front and back view of baby rag quilt...bright and warm

i love those mitered corners of the bordered receiving blankets...i happened across the cutest cow flannel

aren't these just about the cutest cows you have ever warm and cute ,

look they are even eating hay...what great facial expressions these little cows have...

i also made just a very plain receiving blanket some people like just plain stuff...not everyone is so crazy over cows...the truth be told i actually don't like cows that much...they always seemed to know when mu father was gone and broke through the fence...oh yes and then there is the milking part...not much fun i can tell you

this lovely little green and blue is going to have a good home in a couple of weeks i hope...can't wait until i get to meet the little fellow
this flannel rag quilt will probably go to the same home as it has fabrics in it from a special friend who is no longer with us...

eye candy yum yum

what feeds our souls? what feeds your soul? i know that colour feeds my soul and fuels my creativity...i absolutely love a "good mess of colour"...we are surrounded by colour...although colour is used less  in the northern hemisphere then in the southern hemisphere...i love travel to the tropics...the houses, the clothes, the art...colour colour colour...i love to be surrounded by of my favourite places to hang out is my friend Darlene Wiebe's longarm quilting studio...

she always has a good mess of colour in the studio...sometimes it is quilts but there are always the seemingly endless "eye candy" her stock of thread supplies

 oh so much thread everywhere

and then there are quilts with threads being auditioned...more colour yum yum

and then there are the her quilt blocks hanging on her design wall...

year of the horse

2014 is the Chinese year of the horse... i love you can tell from my this year i get to celebrate horses...large small medium, brown, black and both brown black and white...

this is my daughter's horse "hooked my fortune" wearing my "sky horses quilt
my sky horse quilt...i still love it

a couple of the blocks from "sky horses" quilt...i framed them with wonky flying geese made with bright random scraps

the sketch on my bathroom wall

this is my farm horses quilt i still love it as much as the day i finished it...i like to take it with me when we travel by car and use it in hotels rooms...i like my quilt much better then most of  the questionable bedding  a person encounters in hotel rooms

these are two of my favourite blocks from my "farm horses" quilt...

mango margaritas in the snow

new work in progress

new work in progress for me...i used a bali the name...not sure if i would like one as i am in love with lime, lime juice, salt  and tequila...nothing more clean and tart...when i came of age my father taught me to suck on a lime like salt off the back of my hand and them take a swig of tequila...probably where i learned to like margaritas...anyway back on topic...i bought the bali pop on sale but was only able to find one so the quilt is not bed sized...i used a pattern called popsicle sticks...
such bright colours for the foggy grey sky winter we have had thus far...bring back the sun
the backing is ready for me to sandwich...then off to my George i will go far so quilting and mediation...i used some of my fat quarters i have had for quite some time...actually wondering who bought those ugly brown fat quarters...trying to use up the fabric i have stashed...had the bali pop...had the pattern from a quilt mu daughter made...used fat quarters for borders, had those....fat quarters for backing....left over strips of the bali pop for month into not buying and doing well...whoot whoot!!!!!!!!!
