FMQ challenge for sept

i've started this months FMQ challenge sponsored by sewcalgal... september's tutorial is by Paula Reid...looking for forward to getting the FMQ started on this little piece...decided to turn the stencil from the tutorial into a small whole cloth quilted work...working my way up to a larger whole cloth piece...
i had some trouble downloading and printing out the stencil so...i did manage to get it downloaded but not in a size i could use...so i printed in out and headed to work and the photocopier...after many enlargements i did get a copy i could use but had to piece it together to get the size i wanted...oh well alls well that ends well
i then just placed the photocopy under the fabric i choose to use...taped the whole thing to my cutting mat and traced it with a frixon pen
then i traced out the border design using a stencil i already had... next i just sandwiched the piece...i plan to use a lovely large cone of bright pink So Fine... given to me by a friend who has a business quilting on her two long arm gammills...sigh... so i choose a hand dyed pink/purple backing fabric...now i'm ready to start quilting as soon as i get the backing pieced for "once in a blue lizard" as my friend is going to bast it for me on the long arm and i trade i will cook supper...sounds like a great deal to me

How frustrating to spend so much time on what should be a simple copy! It will be worth it when done though!

It will look great and have been worth the trouble! I say this with a bad conscience as I have to work out a feather design for a poor u.f.o. that is waiting for too many years already....
