FMQ challenge for sept is finished

took me a few weeks to get going on this challenge...getting the design from the tutorial to stencil proved to be more work then i wanted it to be...
could only get it to print small and then had to enlarge it several times and then tape it together...but alls well that ends well right...so i am happy with the end result...well as much as one can be...
quilting was enjoyable as always...it is what first attracted me to quilting to begin with...used the design Paula Reid so kindly shared with us... added to that with a stencil i got at quilt festival in houston when i took a class in FMQ class with Sue Nickels...drew on the fabric with a frixion pen... discovered i am a free quilter not a stencil quilter...i can see stencils have a use and place but i would much prefer to just wing it...
the front finished..
the back which i like better is now the front...

some of the details of the "new front"...i used So Fine thread...not a fan at this point as it was hard to get the tension correct...still liking my aurifil thread...

sorry but i am really liking this front with the dyed fabric from quilt festival in houston bought from  Caryl Bryer Fallert...

Sorry you had problems printing the template for this design. Not sure what happened, but glad you found a solution.

Your quilting and project is absolutely spectacular! Love it!

Spectacular new block - I love the "new" front too. Haven't done this month's challenge, in fact will have to wing it on the Susan Brubaker Knapp bonus too, since we have two non-functioning printers at the moment. Winging it is always more fun anyway!

Such pretty colors! Love your quilting. I've never used So Fine. I bought some Aurifil so I'll stick with that!

Love it! I totally agree with you on the wing it vs. stencil it. I had a difficult time making myself quilt this design. Yours looks fabulous with the additional FMQing.
